Today, we were supposedly going to leave for New York, (we are driving) but everyone wanted another day until we left so I have had some time to pack and spend time outside because it was really sunny and warm out. I chased my animals around and took pictures of them because I had nothing better to do, my cat actually escaped through the fence and when I went to chase him I had to bend it all the way down so I could get over. I am wearing shorts and a tube top for the first time this year and I’m very happy that’s it’s starting to become warm, maybe after this week it will stay warm, because the highs for this week are pretty low. While chasing my cat I got so many thorns in my leg but it’s honestly fine because I was not about to let my cat get away. Luckily, he did not run further when I caught him and I may or may not have taken some fire photos of him with my digital camera while I was over there. When Bodhi was sitting on this box behind our chicken coop, I was taking pictures of him and when I was reviewing them later, I thought this photo of him was so poetic for some reason, he’s kind of just there in his thoughts and it reminded me of a Lana Del Rey album cover almost. The sun was so bright at this angle and it was pointing directly into my retinas but I needed that photo so I was just hoping and praying that it looked cool and mysterious.
When I was about to pack for our trip, I was kind of scrambling on whether I should use a suitcase or a duffle bag because I wasn’t sure how many days we’re going to New York for. I was lucky because when looking through my closet for clothes to pack, I found a small bag I intended to use for the beach, and it was perfect for the length of this trip, which I’m guessing will range from 3-4 days. My bag is stuffed full of clothes with a ratio of 3 tops per pair of jeans. Who knows if I’ll want to change multiple times a day?
I was highly considering tanning today because of it being 70, but I decided against it because the UV only reached 5 and it didn’t feel like tanning would be worth changing and re-showering for. I did however lay in the sun for an hour or two so now I am refilled on vitamin-d which is good because it was a dire need of mine to touch grass after not going in my backyard since the fall.
I want to garden this spring, but unfortunately our chickens will decimate anything I plant. What I’ll most likely do is start a small pot with different plants or flowers in my room and then plant it in my front yard when it’s ready to be planted into the ground. I’m actually the worst caretaker for plants and I always forget to water them but I would love to have perennials to grow that come back each spring.
Tomorrow I am being forced to wake up super early, I’m not sure how early yet, but no matter what time it is, I’ll have a six hour car ride to sleep. In general I can never sleep for longer than 20 minutes in cars because somehow we always hit a bump that wakes me up. I forgot to pack any activities for while we’re on the road or when we’re in the hotel at night so I guess I’ll just have to hope my phone lasts all day. I truly think that if I were locked in a room for multiple days with only my phone I wouldn’t even notice an hour has gone by and that may be the root of my screen time issue. I don’t even know how but I’ll open some app and suddenly its 3 hours later than when I opened the app. I would pack a book but if I pack one more thing in that bag its going to explode, I think I take my outfits too seriously.
I’ll definitely be posting while I’m in New York because we will probably be walking 20,000 steps a day for how many things we’ll have to do. Tomorrow, we’re visiting Fordham and I’m excited because it’s an excuse to visit NYC as well as eat dinner at nice restaurants every night we’re there. Wish me luck with the long drive and the extremely early wake up, I’ll need it.
