Friday May 15th
In bio a few weeks ago, we got assigned to make a slideshow on a disease from the list she gave us. I asked her if I could do HLH, which is something that I had when I was little, luckily she agreed. I got to learn more about the disease which was super cool and if you want to see the presentation here it is!
I honestly think for the essay writing I’m going to put all of my ideas into a wheel and spin them because I have so many ideas I want to research , and since researching HLH, I was to learn more about diseases and what they are caused by. I added another category to ideas that is researching fruits or food and their origin and how they grow/how they became popular.
It’s been so long since I’ve posted on here but I’ve just been so busy! I’ll give a little update from the past few weeks and I’ll add some pictures I took!
On May 3rd, I went to Boston with my mom as a bit of an early Mother’s Day. We went to the Museum of Fine Arts and I got the cutest lucky cats that hold chopsticks. The museum was having a special show called ‘Art In Bloom’ , there were about 50 displays of flowers inspired by different paintings in the museum. Usually, I don’t like going to museums because I’m not necessairly a critic and I don’t think too deeply about their meaning. This time, I was actually interested in the flower arrangements, they were so pretty!
For Mother’s day, I wanted to make a little post for my mom, so I spent a chunk of the day looking for photos of her and I. I found some baby photos I had and got some for Father’s Day as well! We also went to see the Devil Wear’s Prada 2 the weekend it came out, and it was really great! I think I honestly liked it more than the first one which is definitley saying something.
This weekend, I’m hoping to get a lot of work done for school, especially on the essay we just got in history, because unfortunately, it needs to be about 5 pages. For my topic, I chose to research Scientology and how it became a prominent religion in America. It’s pretty interesting to learn about, that is if I actually start reading about it. So far, I know that Ron L. Hubbard wrote a fictional novel called Dianetics and his readers got way too into it and started creating a religion around it. Not even sure how that got so famous but I’m sure I’ll find out soon enough!
I’m nervous to get my schedule and I don’t even know what classes I want to take but I’m kind of leaning away from all IB now because it just seems to add unneeded stress to my life. I was debating on IB versus honors/cp chem and a different math than IB, but I’m not sure. I still haven’t gotten a meeting set up with Mrs. Mason, so I’m a little worried about even having the option for IB for science or math. I think I’ll figure it out, but on the bright side, I only had to appeal two classes!
I’ll try to stay on the grind of posting, I just like to put lots of thought into my posts, so I may just post a weekly update. I may make a morning routine of picking a song of the day, that is if I hate time for it, and doing that as a way to start my day. I do wish I had more time to write a post each day, I just don’t have a super interesting life that is full of things to talk about!
I’ll be updating over the summer, definitely on my trip to Costa Rica and how my solo airport travels go! I’m really excited about it and I’m also going to start my employment at Starbucks in Freeport soon, (hoping the interview goes well) and I will give you free drinks if I can. It’s going to be hectic in the summer with all of the tourists so pray for me. Luckily for me, the L.L.Bean Flagship Store doesn’t open until either the fall of this year or next, so less tourists than usual! I think the thing I’m most excited about is first of all, getting paid, and second, having something to do most days in the summer!
I’ll keep posting on here weekly and I’ll add some fun pictures of what I do!!
