We have an early-ish wake up this morning. This was our college tour day where I got to see some different campuses. I got up at 7 and luckily I had already had all of my things packed so I was able to just change and be ready. We left the house at about 8 and we got Dunkin!
Our first stop was UNE in Biddeford. We drove a few hours South and stopped for a quick walk around the campus, it was right on the water. We got to talk to an admissions officer and she was really nice and gave us lots of free stickers.
We got back on the road around 10 and drove up to Wheaton, we passed through New Hampshire and got into Massachusetts where we walked around Wheaton, which I really liked because it has lots of green and is very pretty everywhere. We got some lunch at the cafeteria, I had pizza and chips with some ice cream for dessert, they had an entire dessert bar which was crazy.
We drove a bit around UConn which I am now realizing is a huge campus, everytime we turned onto a new road, there was more housing and lecture halls. I check the undergrad population and apparently it’s around 25,000, no wonder they need so many dorms.
Lastly, we made it to New York after 2 more hours of driving on parkways and missing a few exits on the highways. We got to our hotel (I booked it) and we arrived at about 8. There was a really cute little restaurant that we went to eat at and it was probably the best meal of my entire life. I got tacos and ate some of the shared appetizer that was nachos with bunch of toppings. We got back to the hotel at around 10:15 and now I’m here writing this an hour later after I almost forgot.
Tomorrow we’re going to Fordham and walk around the Bronx, maybe we’ll take the subway into Manhattan? I’m excited to see the campus and I think it will be a nice excursion!
